\nSome nights, sleep escapes me.<\/span>
\nMy mind races\u2014some thoughts random, some heavy, others lingering questions that refuse to settle. Anxiety creeps in quietly, and before I know it, I\u2019m wide awake in the middle of the night, searching for something to anchor me.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Few weeks ago, I walked past a park and accidentally sat inside a memory.<\/span>
\nOld souls. A chessboard. Intense silence.<\/span>
\nThirty minutes slipped into two hours without me noticing.<\/span><\/p>\n

I didn\u2019t plan to stop.<\/span><\/p>\n

I didn\u2019t plan to stay.<\/span><\/p>\n

But a chessboard in the park pulled me into a different pace of life\u2014<\/span>
\na place where time slows, where silence carries weight,<\/span>
\nwhere wisdom doesn\u2019t announce itself; it simply waits.<\/span>
\nThe pieces moved with intention.<\/span>
\nSo did the hands that held them.<\/span><\/p>\n

I didn\u2019t know the strategies.<\/span>
\nI just knew the feeling.<\/span>
\nIt felt like my grandparents sitting nearby, teaching without speaking\u2014<\/span>
\nreminding me that some lessons arrive only when you\u2019re still enough to notice.<\/span>
\nIt felt like home.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the old men laughed and told me to come back ready to play next time.<\/span>
\nI smiled and said I wanted to say \u201cCheckmate<\/strong>\u201d someday.<\/span><\/p>\n

So I went home and built a chessboard\u2014piece by piece\u2014<\/span>
\nlate at night, when the world was quiet and my thoughts were loud.<\/span>
\nI didn\u2019t know the strategies, just the basics.<\/span>
\nBut I knew the feeling.<\/span>
\nIt reminded me of my grandparents.<\/span>
\nOf patience<\/strong><\/em>.<\/span>
\nOf wisdom<\/strong><\/em> that doesn\u2019t rush.<\/span><\/p>\n

That\u2019s when I turned to my <\/span>LEGO<\/strong> <\/em><\/span>chess set<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
